Jorg landsknecht doublet

The "Jörg" doublet is a two-coloured slit jacket based on historical patterns of legendary landsknecht mercenaries, clothing.It is uncertain where this fashion originated from but historians suggest that landsknechts started slashing their clothing because it was too tight for them to fight in it, and because looted clothes were too small for many of these famous mercenaries.

The doublet has an elaborate cut and is made from robust, high quality canvas material. This allows for freedom of movement while fighting in this costume. Five brass buttons with antique finish at the front keep the doublet closed on cooler days. The lacing along the sleeves create the typical landsknecht puffy look.

This doublet can be used not only for landsknecht reenactment but are also well suited for nobility, merchant or pirate costumes.
